It all starts with a line, it doesn’t really matter if it’s drawn with a pencil on paper or with the blade of ice skates on a frozen lake. With this new silent book, Suzy Lee once again blurs the lines between reality and fiction, between drawing and story. The amusing tale - which is simple only in appearance - of a young skater who zooms and pirouettes on the ice, creating a game of callbacks between the author’s stroke and the character's evolution, revealing the playful nature of drawing.
Suzy Lee was born in Seoul, she lives and works in Singapore. She has written numerous well-loved children’s books, among which are the three silent books which accompany the so-called "border trilogy": L’onda, Mirror e Ombra. She has participated in numerous exhibitions and shows on book art and painting all around the world, being awarded many prizes and reconditions, such as appearing in the New York Times Best Illustrated Books and her nomination for the Hans Christian Andersen Award.
