In medieval times pilgrimages were undertaken in a similar way to journeys today. Maps were consulted, guide books sought and the route planned. The journey was as important as the destination; souvenirs were bought back and journals kept. I visited Another Place by Antony Gormley believing that the statues were going to be removed. The three statues I saw, although from the same cast, were clearly different. I was determined to photograph every statue but I had to make four trips to achieve this. This is a journal of my pilgrimage.
