Brigantia is a story that started to grow in 2020, during a suddenly slow moment, and that has unfolded in time and space ever since, reaching this present form, which is not a conclusion but a part of the process.

The name of this story is inspired by the old Celtic goddess Brigid, bearer of
the flame of life and poetry, lying on an immense sea, creating an archipelago, a thick and variegated ecosystem, made of very different landscapes, but all united under the same name, Brigantia.

Annika Pettini decided to tell this land of possibility as she gradually came in contact with the research of artists who were capable of planting in her such vast images and emotions they could outline entire landscapes.

Every chapter gravitates around the research of one of the artists and is a combination of poetic writings, stemming from the impressions generated by the single processes and a selection of images from their personal archives, showing how their gaze touches the world before becoming an artwork, during the phase of study and preparation.

Brigantia has no boundaries. It stems from the constant encounter of work and thought and it is dedicated to knowledge and spiritual dignity.
