The title refers to the classic Bar Italia, a stereotyped symbol of a landmark present in every large or small Italian city. Hitters uses it as a starting point to explore the soul of the country, offering us an original and personal vision. His photos do not limit themselves to portraying the bars themselves, rather they immerse themselves in the atmosphere around them.
Materiality, delicacy, at times drama mix in images of curtains, scraped walls, draperies and other details that reveal the veil of silent stories."
