"Blind Date, Blind Fate: Collage as an Event" is a dossier by Artphilein Library dedicated to photocollage as a contemporary artistic language. Tracing its evolution from a political and social critique to a tool for exploring the nature of photographic images, the project reflects on how today’s artists rework existing imagery within the broader ‘cut-and-paste’ culture. The publication brings together collage photobooks from the library’s collection and from artist Daniele Villa Zorn’s archive. Villa Zorn also contributes his own original works—minimal, haiku-like compositions created from mid-20th-century travel guides, forming poetic and disorienting landscapes. A conversation between Zorn and Yuval Etgar further enriches the project with layered reflections on collage, photography, and visual culture.
