Elena Perlino is an Italian photographer based in Paris. Her recent photographic series focus on migration, human trafficking and gender issues.

In this work projects, Perlino immersed herself in a neighborhood in the 18th arrondissement, well known to Parisians: the Goutte d'Or. It is one of the lively districts of the capital, a small area of about 30,000 inhabitants, characterized by a multi-ethnic mix in which over thirty different ethnic groups come to terms with each other. She was thus able to experience and share the daily existence of the inhabitants of the Goutte d'Or, staying as close as possible to them - in the public sphere but also in the private one.

This book provides a new look at neighborhoods that have been described as "ghettos": it does not focus solely on the elements of radicalization. Rather, it allows us to imagine the possibility of "living together".
