For the first time, Matteo is working in his own country, exploring one of the most forgotten areas of Italy: the Po river delta.
The aesthetics and the rhythm both come from cinema and music: from Tom Waits to Nick Cave, from Jim Jarmusch to Wim Wenders.
The river thus becomes a metaphor, a winding path to follow in search of a place that might not even exist: the Blue Bar. The sense of ‘feeling blue’ and the melancholia inherent to the river delta area come through strongly in the sequence.
Altogether, the work is about the idea of uncertainty that we all have to face.
