The project ‘Elemental’ was created using a large format camera, and looks at how a variance in extreme weather conditions and a slight shift in geographic locations affect architecture. Inspired by the writings of Japanese architect Go Hasegawa, these highly formal, yet abstract images trace the transition throughout the harsh winter months in the Canadian Rockies.
The work was created during an artist in residency program organised by Lethbridge university, where I was to be stationed in Blairmore Alberta. During my stay in the Pass temperatures varied between +4 to -35 Celsius.
