Maestri d'ascia

A silent book by Luca Caimmi.

The pages evoke nocturnal landscapes like old memories. The dark night colors the waters and the shoreline in pink, red and grey. There three marine animals met. Having landed on the bank, they walk towards a large trunk, scrutinize it, improvise shipwrights, that is, those who, thanks to their profound knowledge of wood and essences, know how to build boats. Page after page the trunk becomes a large wooden boat, with which to embark on a journey in the rough sea.
The latest drawings reveal a surprise: the story comes from the imagination of an animal traveling by train and fantasising in half-sleep looking out the window, picking up old childhood memories.
