The second Jeu de Paume festival, Moving Landscapes, explores imaginative responses to natural spaces and archetypes – jungle, oasis, sky, desert, forest – and the enduring symbols they evoke. The accompanying catalogue consists of two books under one cover. The first features narratives inspired by landscapes, from a sensory journey through the Congo Basin to a boat voyage in Patagonia and an adventure at a glacier’s edge, tracing paths of exile and homecoming. The second presents a portfolio of exhibited works with commentaries. Designed to be read simultaneously, the books create unexpected encounters between text and image.
