Dalle abitudini alimentari ai comportamenti bizzarri, dall’habitat sotterraneo alle diverse sfumature di rosa che può assumere, c’è moltissimo da scoprire sul verme: eppure nessuno – con l’illustre eccezione di Charles Darwin – sembra essersi mai interessato a lui. Molti aspetti del suo mondo restano perciò ignoti alla scienza: come ha fatto a eludere la selezione naturale? A cosa serve la sua coda? E perché si ostina a scavare interminabili gallerie nella terra?
