“Presencio & The Rural Kids” is a documentary and photographic project that Virginia Villacisla has developed over more than a decade. Through a series of intimate, vibrant images charged with memory, the author portrays a group of young people in the village of Presencio, in the province of Burgos, with a population of 200 inhabitants—a place closely tied to her personal and family history. This work offers an insider’s perspective, free of artifice or condescension, on what it means to grow up in community in a rural environment shaped by exodus and transformation.
